As part of the Milwaukee Road Historical Association’s convention in St. Paul this past weekend (June 20 – 23), we rode on the 261 train from Minneapolis Junction through Hopkins, Norwood/Young America, and Glencoe, to Brownton. I rode in the Cedar Rapids car (it’s a genuine Skytop!).

The service Rick and Mary provided was fabulous. Airline First Class is nowhere near this railroad’s First Class. The environment, seating comfort, visibility, social interaction, and the attention given to us by our two attendants was remarkably good. On the return trip in the afternoon, it was a real treat to munch on hot and cold appetizers and drink Chardonnay wine!
